Welcome to Avon Only

This very unspoilt part of southern England is rich in wildlife and unspoilt habitats and has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest where traditional farming practices are encouraged.

Avon has a diverse habitat where wild flowers thrive and where you can find numerous species of aquatic plants and fish, including Salmon and Barbel. As well as being famous for its fishing, the Avon is also home to numerous birdlife, including Geese, Coots, Cormorants and Ducks and is one of the most important sites in Britain for certain species. There is therefore always much to see and find of interest to the observant walker in this unspoilt Valley.
